moblie websites
It wasn't so very long ago that internet access typically involved the work or home computer, on a wired connection, and almost always at a desk. Then along came WAP, GPRS, UMTS, HSPDA . . . the latter being commonly referred to as 3G and 3G+. It was a game-changer. All of a sudden, all you needed to connect to the internet was a decent signal and anything but the most basic of mobile phone.
The mobile internet is growing at an unprecedented rate. From cutting edge smartphones right down to even the most lowly of mobile handsets, pretty much all new cellphones feature some kind of browser to view websites. Indeed, many experts predict that mobile internet usage will soon become more widely used than traditional home or office-based connections. Certainly, from our own experiences, once you start using the web from a phone, you'll find it very hard to stop. It's just the sheer convenience.
The big problem, of course, is the majority of sites aren't optimised for use on mobiles (and yes, we know that includes parts of this one but we're a design company after all and we need to show we can do Flash!)
We're currently working on a number of new mobile site projects - details to be featured here soon.
