web & multimedia designers
It's been fun this last six months. Short headline links issued by mobile, through the wonder that is Twitter, to give an idea of what we've been up to. It makes sense. It's easy - immediate - and allows us to spend time doing what we do best. Fact is though, we've been involved in some pretty engaging and impressive stuff since May. In no particular order, here's a quick rundown of what's been keeping us busy...
Although the site's been ready for months, Rigmar took the decision to wait until the rest of their extensive marketing initiative had been completed to release their new website. Co-inciding with the publication and delivery of the new Rigmar RUSH CD-rom, we're proud to announce the new Rigmar site is now live featuring site-wide CMS, user database and a unique monitored sharing system which runs in tandem with the CD. It's smart - so smart in fact that, it actually knows who you are - and won't allow access to certain areas of the site unless you have a legitimate copy of the CD. Clever stuff!
Over the last few years, 3D motion and imaging has become an integral part of part of Deepblue's production process. From CD-rom production to full web development, 3D video and stills can offer a truly different perspective to our work - and that of our clients. Just recently, we looked through the archives and realised just how much we've done. For this reason - and from this realisation - came the seed of inspiration for 3DAberdeen.co.uk, a full showcase site for our work. The 3DAberdeen site features a comprehensive library of our work to date. However, trust us, the best is yet to come . . . We know - it's already in production ;)
Angita Pharmaceuticals is a pioneering company dedicated to the discovery of novel targets and drug candidates for the treatment of unmet needs in diseases of the Central Nervous System (CNS) and indications in which the CNS plays an important function. Angita approached Deepblue to produce a variety of marketing tools including a new logo, corporate website, business cards, letterheads and compliment slips. We're about to start work on phase two of their web development - a dedicated user area complete with password / username log in protection. More info to follow.
First Energy Development is a small independent engineering consultancy offering a unique service to address and advise the complex issues in the subsea oil and gas and marine renewables sectors. First Energy approached Deepblue to produce a comprehense online presence to help market the company to a wider audience and augment their already considerable reputation. The First Energy site went live October 2010 receiving considerable plaudits and has since helped the company establish a considerable footing with its target demographic.
A couple of years ago, Fotheringham Property Developments commissioned Deepblue to revamp their corporate website. We then suggested the production of a ground-breaking new site to showcase their new development at Castleview (www.fpdcastleview.com) featuring 3D visualisations and fly-throughs of an, at the time, completely unbuilt development. It worked. Before even the first house was completed, 70% of the site plots had been sold. On the back of the incredible success of this first site comes our new production - the FPD Lochview website.
NWT are a subsea and marine equipment supplier based in Ellon Aberdeenshire which trades with companies around the world. With such a global trading operation, the establishment of an online stock site was seen as essential to facilitate in the buying and selling goods with its clients. Deepblue constructed a full CMS site with comprehensive search function to help NWT expand its reach and allow its clients to see, in real time, the various items of equipment held at any given time by the company.
While normally we'd approach an e-commerce site with bespoke CMS solutions powered by WorldPay, PayPal etc, not all companies can afford the financial outlay but would still nonetheless benefit from an online presence to sell their wares locally, nationally and beyond. Using a variety of online e-commerce systems such as Google Checkout and E-Bay, it's now possible to start up small e-stores at a fraction of the price of traditionally produced shop sites. Sure, the commission might be a little higher but, in the case of Dulcia, Google Checkout offered all the required processing and store power at a fraction of the cost of a fully bespoke online shop.
Its A Box asked Deepblue to produce a simple, one-product shop at a competitive price which would still allow them to sell professionally online. Just like the Dulcia site, where we would normally recommend a bespoke CMS shopping solution, sometimes the buget just can't justify a full-blown solution - particularly when there's just one product involved. Step up Google Checkout . Using this simple online e-commerce solution (which is offered for free, save for a small percentage commission on sales) we were able to produce a budget onilne web presence to help get the company started.
Just when you thought we just made excellent web and multimedia products! Over the last few months, we've also been producing multiple print items including business cards, office materials (letterheads and compliment slips) as well as a large print run of CD sleeves for the Rigmar RUSH project noted above. Not only that though - we've also produced a number of logos for projects ranging from the RUSH logo itself to logos for NDB's SAIR project and a new logo for Angita Pharmaceuticals. We'll be posting full examples of our recent work in the print section of the site soon but, by way of a taster meantime, here's the Angita letterhead design.
You'll have to wait and see! We've a lot of new projects on right now which will release in the next few weeks including some scintillating 3D projects, delivered both on and offline.
We are a dedicated group of designers and programmers based in Aberdeen, Scotland specialising in the provision of web and multimedia solutions for companies in the UK, Europe and beyond. We've won awards for our work and we're proud of what we do.
